Subject:   2005 Pan Pacific Matsuri in Hawaii Parade

The Pan Pacific Matsuri in Hawaii parade committee has requested HUOA’s participation in their Matsuri In Hawaii Parade on Sunday, June 12, 2005. We are planning to include members of the Paranku Clubs of Hawaii and our club banners.

We are asking that each club provide at least one (1) member to carry their respective club banner. We would also encourage all officers, advisors, and members of the Executive Council as well as other club members to participate by marching in the parade to show our support for the Pan Pacific Matsuri In Hawaii parade.

Let us come out in force to show our spirit of Hukurashaya “Proud to be Uchinanchu” !

By participating in events such as these, we live two of our Eight Guiding Principles:

  • We believe in and are committed to cultivating and perpetuating the “Uchinanchu Spirit.”
  • “Hawaii’s cultural diversity is its strength. We are committed to participating meaningfully in the wider Japanese and Hawaii community.

Please mark the date down on your calendar and get your people ready for the parade.
