ISLAND OF OAHU

Tennis>>

Tennis just started on Saturday July 10th, 8:30 am till 12:00 noon at Kalihi Valley District Park Tennis Courts, next schedule outing is on Sat. 24th 8:30 am till 1200 noon. The sport was all fun, we need to practice for a couple of months. Anyway, if you have the time and looking for fun and fellowship email the HUOA sports director, and I'll be more than happy to provide you with all the information.

Golf>>

* Special Event: Hui Makaala Golf Tournament (Sunday, August 29th, 2004)

Bowling >>

The Mixed Handi-cap Bowling League just completed their twenty-second week of competition at Leeward Bowl, and continue to enjoy the fun and fellowship the sport offers. So, if you have the time, go on down to the alley every Sunday afternoon from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm and support your club's team/ teams or get together with other members and talk about entering a team - they need to expand their competition.

Gate Ball >>

*In the future, a brand new sport will be added to our list of HUOA sport events. This sport will capture all ages of members in need to get out and enjoy all the fun, fellowship, and competition whether its indoor or outdoor. If you promise to spread the news to all our members, family, & friends, I tell you !!! Yes, Gate Ball is being researched right this moment as you read this email. Gate Ball will be one of the greatest special events that will be added to HUOA. list of sports that will provide all the fun, fellowship, and competition to all ages of our membership. So, be calm and give me time to complete my research, then I schedule a meeting or meetings whatever it takes to get Gate Ball started. Before I stop, I'll give you a hint, Maui already has some competitive Gate Ball teams that do play as their schedule allows them to. So, we need to get prepared, and not be left out in the cold and miss all the fun and fellowship as well as the competition. Practice early if you have the equipment if not, just wait till all the information is gathered and our first meeting is scheduled. If you have any questions or doubts, please do not hesitate to email me at  sports@huoa.org  and I'll try my best to provide with all the information that I have - Mahalo for your time, and please forward all this information to our members that do not have the electronic capabilities.

Volleyball >>

The H.U.O.A. Mixed Volleyball League ended their season early mid April and a champion was declared along with a trophy ceremony at Waipahu High School Gym. I like very much to congratulate URASOE SHIJIN KAI for doing a very fine job completing among all the other teams throughout the entire season, and still held the position till the end. Also, if you have not heard, Urasoe is a repeating champion, they've been champions for serveral years, so I recommend that all the other teams to get together early before the start of the new season in 2005, and practice, practice, practice.
