BOWLING
The Mixed Handi-cap Bowling League is continuing having fun and fellowship at Leeward Bowl every Sunday afternoon from 1:30 pm till 4:30 pm. So if you got the time, go on down to the alley early and try out your skill, someone might be interested in recruiting you for their team next session (ending of Nov. 2005).

SOFTBALL
The 14-Inch Slow-Pitch Softball League is now entering play-offs. The competition is better than ever, so don't forget to support your club team / teams, enjoy the fun, fellowship, and the exciting action of every inning. The competition starts at 10:30 am and ends at 1:30 pm every Sunday at Halawa District Park. Please check the game schedules on the sports website, the league will not be scheduled to play on Memorial Day Weekend due to the Golf Tournament.
*Play-off Schedule.

TENNIS
Tennis has been slowly coming around, but there are those that are now showing some interest and that's really great. I have been getting email and phone calls  from our members out there (of all ages). As soon as the numbers of participants is reached (12 players), we will then  have a new league meeting to discuss rules and league play, as well as sponsorship. If you have already contacted the Sports Director by email ( sports@huoa.org ) or called HOC for the Sports Director phone numbers you will be contacted on when the very first meeting will be scheduled. Also, at the same time, I'll have it on the sports website for all that are interested. So spread the news to our members, and let them know that a new sport is about to begin in HUOA.

VOLLEYBALL
*Congratulations to our new 2005 HUOA Mixed Volleyball Team Champion Ginowan Shijin Kai for an outstanding accomplishment. It takes alot of experience, skill, and teamwork (to include the fellowship gatherings afterwards) to reach a level  that some would only to dream of. Congratulations again, due to other sporting events and HUOA commitments, I send my sincere regrets for not attending such an exciting event as all of you are deserving in striving for the ultimate goal that your club will be very proud of as the team have completed this volleyball season as champions.

SPECIAL EVENTS
I am planning an all sport camping outing for those that are interested.  The tentative dates are Oct. 7th through Oct. 10th (Fri., Sat., Sun., & Leave Mon. morning) Columbus Day Weekend. So now is the time to treat yourself to a relaxing vacation on the beach and enjoy the sun and the evening parties. Remember, you don't need to stay all three days, but we need to know your plans. Anyway, for more information on this special event camp, please email me at sports@huoa.org or call the HOC for my numbers to reach me at. Also, there will be a deadline for head count, and that is tentatively set for
August 31st (Wednesday). I understand that everyone will be busy preparing  for the Okinawan Festival, but deadlines must be set in order for applying for camping permits (State Property). So don't wait till the last day, make a commitment early and save a camping site for yourself or friends. Lets all have a good time and enjoy all the fun and fellowship or just get together and meet other members of our organization. Please spread the news and let our members without computers know that HUOA Sports offer fun, fellowship, and good fortune.
