Norman's roots can be traced back to his
grandparents, Matsukichi and Ushii Nakasone (Aza Yogi), who immigrated
to Hawaii from Okianwa in the early 1900's. Matsukichi, along with other
relatives, was instrumental in organizing the Wahiawa Okinawa Kyoyu Kai
back in 1934. After years of gentle coaxing by his uncle, Jimmy Iha, Norman became actively involved several years ago. He has served as an advisor on HUOA's Executive Council for the past two years and previously served on its Administration Committee. His past positions with Wahiawa Okinawa Kyoyu Kai include president, vice-president and secretary. Norman has been with Central Pacific Bank for 22 years and is currently Vice President & Service Quality Manager. He graduated with a BA in Economics and Japanese from UH Manoa and has an MBA from Chimanade University. Norman and his wife, Renette, have two children, Brett and Michelle. They spend much of their spare time supporting Brett and Michelle in their respective sporting activities. |
