Preserving Our Legacy annual fund covers the current operating costs for Hawaii Okinawa Center, ongoing programs and services that help to preserve our Okinawan community. Among the events that HUOA presents are the Okinawan Festival, Children's Okinawan Cultural Day Camp, scholarship awards for the advancement of the Okinawan cultural arts, Uchinaaguchi class, sanshin class, Autumn Dance Matsuri, leadership and fellowship workshops for the development of young leaders and sports activities.

Donate Your Car through Kokua In Kind
Donate your car with Kokua in Kind, a car exchange service that will take your car and resell it. Proceeds will be donated to HUOA, and it is a tax deductible donation!
We’ve recently become listed as a beneficiary with Kokua in Kind, a car exchange service that will take your old car and resell it. Proceeds from the sale less a few fees can be donated to HUOA! And yes, this is a tax deductible donation. You will receive a letter from HUOA once we are notified. You don’t have to be an HUOA Club member to donate. Encourage your family, friends and co-workers who are considering donating their vehicle to go to Kokua in Kind to benefit HUOA. Our first donor was our very own 2009 HUOA President, Ford Chinen! Do you shop online often? Did you know that your shopping
can earn funds for HUOA? Yes, through GoodShop, you can raise money for HUOA by
selecting Hawaii United Okinawa Association in the Who Do You Support section,
then select your online retailer of choice. You can earn from 0.5% to 35% of
your total purchase for HUOA! There is no cost to you, the retailer has an
agreement with GoodShop to donate a percentage of sales. So, shop away and help
us raise funds for HUOA!
For those that love surfing the web, there is GoodSearch.com, a Yahoo! search engine that will donate one penny per search you make. Last year, we earned 1.3 cents per search! Both opportunities to surf and shop are FREE – no charges or user fees are collected.

Tax Status
Hawaii United Okinawa Association is a non-profit cultural organization which is classified by the IRS as exempt under the IRS Section 501(c)(3). Therefore, donations from individuals and corporations, as well as grants from private foundations, qualify for maximum tax benefits allowable by the IRS.
