JTB HONOLULU FESTIVAL PARADE
INFORMATION Sunday March 14, 2010 Assembly Time: 3:30 pm Staging Area: Ft. DeRussey, across the street from Nike Town Parade Start Time: 4:30 pm Parade Route: Kalakaua Avenue, ends at Kapiolani Park
WHAT TO WEAR Long black pants or black Bermuda shorts (length right above the knee) and any HUOA logo or your Club t-shirt. HUOA vests (Uchikake) and purple sashes will be provided for banner carriers and marchers on a first-come, first-served basis. Don't forget your sunscreen!
FREE BUS SERVICE Sign up by March 5 to reserve your seat on the FREE bus service to and from the parade. Bus schedule as follows:
Bus: Leaves Hawaii Okinawa Center 2:15 pm Leaves Pearl City Recreation Center 2:30 pm Leaves Jikoen Temple 2:50 pm
Return: Bus will leave Waikiki at 6:00 pm |

HAWAII-OKINAWA STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM The Hawaii-Okinawa Student Exchange Program was established by the State Legislature and the Department of Education in 1990 to provide students with the opportunity to learn first hand about the culture of Okinawa, foster and sustain good relationships and cultural exchanges, and create global awareness and a sense of internationalism in today's youth.
Travel to Home-Stay in Okinawa Deadline to apply: March 11, 2010 A maximum of 25 students statewide will be selected to participate in home-stay in Okinawa scheduled for June 4 - 19, 2010. Students are responsible for their airfare of approximately $1,200 and any personal incidentals. All accommodations, meals and ground transportation in Okinawa will be provided by the Okinawan government and/or host family. The ability to speak Japanese is not a requirement. Oahu students who are planning to apply are encouraged to volunteer to host an Okinawan student when the Okinawan students visit Hawaii to receive priority status to go to Okinawa.
